MIL-R-48442(MU)
3.6 Performance electrical.
3.6.1 Polarization of input terminal.-The regulator input
terminal shall be polarized positive with respect to the regulator
metallic case, which shall be negative and considered as electrical
circuit ground.
3.6.2 Polarization of output terminal.- The regulator output
terminal shall deliver an electrical potential of positive polarity
with respect to the regulator metallic case, which shall be negative
and considered as electrical circuit ground.
3.6.3 Polarization of battery terminal.- The regulator battery
terminal shall be polarized positive with respect to the regulator
metallic case, which shall be negative and considered as electrical
circuit ground.
3.6.4 Input potential.- The regulator shall be energized by a
direct current (de) electrical potential of from 18.0 to 30.0 volts.
3.6.5 Reverse polarity.- The regulator shall not be damaged
by the application of electrical potentials of 3.6.4 in reverse polarity.
3.7 Performance - operational.- The regulator shall exhibit no
spasmodic or intermittent operation when meeting the following require-
ments:
3.7.1 Electrical shock.- The regulator under full load (see 3.7.3)
shall meet the following requirements after being subjected to one
hour of intermittent operation consisting of a continuously repetitive
30 second ON and 30 second OFF cycle at an ambient temperature of
75 ± 15°F only.
3.7.2 Input voltage surge.- The regulator shall show no evidence
of damage, and shall exhibit no increase in output voltage for any
time period, when the regulator input is subjected to at least a 100
millisecond voltage spike having a minimum amplitude of 80.0 dc volts.
3.7.3 Output current.- The regulator shall deliver, under full
load, at least 45.0 dc milliamperes when meeting the requirement 3.7.5.
3.7.4 Output voltage.- The regulator shall deliver a dc voltage
of 2.65 ± .3 volts at all operating temperatures described in 3.5.2.
Above outputs shall be with an input. voltage over the range specified
in 3.6.4.
3.7.5 Emergency power source.- The regulator shall supply a
voltage at the output connector equal to. the voltage of two BA-42
batteries. This voltage shall be connected to tthe battery contact
positive with respect to case ground, with no voltage applied to the
input. When an input is supplied over the range specified in 3.6.4
the output shall be that specified in 3.7.4.
