4.7.3.17.3
Range accuracy measurement.
a.
Set TARGET switch to ON position.
b. Adjust TARGET LEVEL control until LOCK ON indicator
illuminates.
c. Decrease (lower number on dial) TARGET LEVEL control
setting by 10.
Set FUNCTION SELECT switch to RANGE position.
d.
e. Read and record range voltage indicated on digital
display (DVM).
f. Set RANGE SELECT switch to R2, R3, and R4 positions and
repeat step e, above.
NOTE: Allow 3 seconds for the Radar to re-acquire the target signal
each time the RANGE SELECT switch position is changed.
Set FUNCTION SELECT switch to RANGE REF position.
g.
h. Read and record range reference voltage indicated in
digital display (DVM).
i. Determine range of the Radar Set by the following
calculation:
CalCUlated range (meters) = Range Voltage (step e), x 5000
Range Reference Voltage (step h)
4.7.3.17.4 Sub-clutter visibility (SCV) measurement.
a.
Connect TPS short on J6 of Radar Receiver Unit 3.
b.
Set RANGE SELECT to R4.
c.
Set TARGET switch to ON position.
d. Adjust TARGET LEVEL control until LOCK ON indicator is
illuminated.
e. Decrease (lower number on dial) TARGET LEVEL control
setting by 5 dB.
f. Set TARGET FREEZE switch to ON position. (LOCK ON
indicator should stay illuminated.)
Set CLUTTER switch to ON position.
g.
h. Adjust CLUTTER LEVEL control until SIGNAL CHANNEL meter
indicates 1 to 2 volts.
