MIL-C-48605A (AR)
4.7.3.14 Target signal characteristics.
a.
Perform the initial conditions per 4.7.3.1.
b. Perform RF power calibration per steps 3.5.17a and
3.5.17b as required.
c. Connect a spectrum analyzer and waveguide variable
attenuator to the open end of cable W5.
d.
Set the TARGET LEVEL dial to 27.
e. Set the TARGET BALANCE attenuator to a minimum
(completely counterclockwise).
f. Measure and record the target signal per 3.5.17f for all
positions of the FREQ SELECT switch.
g. Place the TARGET switch to ON position.
h.
Adjust the TARGET BALANCE attenuator per 3.5.17g.
i. Measure and record the target signal per 3.5.17g for all
positions of the FREQ SELECT switch.
j. Place the CLUTTER switch to the ON position and adjust
the clutter signal (within 10 dB) of a target signal reference.
k. Measure and record the frequency difference between the
clutter signal and the target signal per 3.5.17h for all positions
of the FREQ SELECT switch.
l. Place the CLUTTER switch to the OFF position and TARGET
LEVEL to 27.
m. Measure and record the harmonically and spurious related
sidebands with the control assembly in CW condition for the
requirements of 3.5.17i for all positions of the FREQ SELECT switch.
n.
Set the RF LEVEL dial to 15.
o.
Set the FREQ SELECT switch to the 9.205 position.
Set the TARGET LEVEL dial to 27.
p.
q. Measure and record the target signal level versus the
TARGET LEVEL dial reading in dial increments of 10 per 3.5.18j and
Table X.
r. Repeat steps p and q, above, with the FREQ SELECT switch
in the 9.245 position.
